John Michael Cocco, MD, has been an esteemed member of the medical community for almost five decades. Now specializing in family medicine at Allied Health Solutions of Los Angeles, Dr. Cocco is excited to bring his expertise to a new community.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth University, Dr. Cocco received his medical degree from Canada’s highly esteemed McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. In addition to his studies, Dr. Cocco was honored with membership to numerous professional societies, such as Alpha Chi, Alpha Sigma, and Alpha Sigma Lambda.
Once he received his degree, Dr. Cocco completed his internship and residency at Montreal’s Royal Victoria Hospital, then a further residency in pulmonary medicine at the Bronx Municipal Hospital in New York City. His civilian career was briefly interrupted in 1968 when Dr. Cocco served his country in Vietnam as a Major in the United States Air Force, second in command for health care in the region, conducting medical missions and overseeing the care and transport of patients.
Since his return, Dr. Cocco has served the medical community in nearly every position possible: he has held positions as research director, on the medical staff of a litany of top-flight hospitals, as a consultant to many nursing homes, and as the owner of his own practice.
Dr. Cocco’s lifetime of service, his experience in all facets of the medical field, and his leadership shown in each stage of his life make him an exciting addition to the team at Allied Health Solutions and a resource to the people of Los Angeles.
